Submission Guidelines
News
- News stories should be purely factual, rather than speculative or opinionated
- Authors should fact-check their submissions
- Rumors and hearsay should be distinguished from observed facts and statements directly from the relevant parties
- News stories should be notable and/or give value to the community
Editorials

Novelty
Submissions should either:
A. Make a new contribution to a subject already raised by a previous editorial
B. Raise a subject not covered by a previous editorial

Quality
Submissions should:
A. Show epistemic humility. This means being honest about the limits of what they know, and allowing the possibility that they are mistaken
B. Be carefully fact-checked

Civility
Submissions should not:
A. Accuse community members of bad faith
B. Reveal sensitive information about people, including private communications, without their consent
C. Violate the code of conduct

Format
A. 200-2000 words

If you are pointing out a problem, you do not have to propose a solution, but criticism without concrete suggestions is less likely to be approved.
Ads
- Ads should be short
- Ads are more likely to be accepted if they are advertising something done for the benefit of the Hack Club community
How to Submit
Draft a Google doc and share it with eps@hackclub.com. If we note changes or leave comments, you need to address those before you can be published.
This process will likely change later.
We also welcome PRs to improve the site or fix typos and formatting errors. Please don’t structure article submissions as PRs.
